Barbecue Charcoal

£10.00

Made in small batches on our Somerset estate, our barbecue charcoal is perfect for warm, summer nights. It lights quickly and holds steady heat for longer, which is perfect for searing steaks, charring vegetables, or slow-smoking beef brisket.

Our charcoal is made in a traditional kiln using timber that has been sustainably harvested using the coppicing process we employ on our estate. Coppicing is a traditional method of woodland management where trees are cut in a roughly 7-year cycle, ensuring new growth and vigour.

From our estate

Our woodsman, Greg, uses a traditional coppicing process to harvest wood from our Somerset estate. The wood is then stacked in the kiln, and a fire is started around 5am, which is carefully managed until 9pm when the fire is shut down. The kiln is then opened 60 hours later, and the charcoal removed and bagged.
